Walking Soothes The Soul

One of my favourite past times is walking, I have always enjoyed going for a nice long walk and getting myself lost in the adventure that is nature. It is such an amazingly, simplistic past time that has the ability to wash away all my worries. I don’t think I ever feel as contented and peaceful as I do after a nice long walk.
I love being outside and discovering all the wanders that nature has to offer and I love, that with every step, I am discovering more and more of her beauty. From her blossoming branches to her newly hatched ducklings, it really is a glorious balm to the soul.
I would advise anyone to just put on their shoes and go for walk and let Mother Nature wash away their worries and bring tranquillity into their life,
Below are a few pictures I have managed to snap on my walks. Enjoy,

A Review - Clinique All About Eyes

I would just like to start by saying that eye creams are a definite must in my skincare routine, and I couldn’t imagine not using one. I like to know that every morning and night I am giving my eye skin area a little extra love and care. Now I am in no way a professional skincare expert but I like to think that I have tried so many eye creams (and there have been many) that I have the ability to tell the difference between a great one and a not so great one. So here I am writing this review to let you guys know about a great eye cream I have been using and loving…and just couldn’t live without. Enjoy.

The packaging: The packaging I find to be really simple and pleasing to the eye. For someone who likes minimal and elegant things this definitely ticked the boxes for me. It comes in a little green box, and the cream itself comes in a small, clear tub with a metal lid which twists off. The whole packaging has very little wording and just tells you what you need to know about the product, there is no over exaggeration or explaining which I find some products tend to do.

The Scent; Even though it does state to be 100% fragrance free i still find there is a slight scent to the product. Its not a displeasing smell, i would describe it as smelling very clean and pleasing, It has also never irritated my skin.

The Application/Texture: This eye cream goes on like a dream! I apply a small amount under each eye and then massage it in using my ring finger. It just glides over my skin so easily; there is no sticky or greasy feeling. It also absorbs fairly quickly. I would say application takes no more than 2 – 3 minutes, if that!
The texture of the cream is just all around ‘light’. The cream itself is quite thin, which I think allows it to glide over your skin like I mentioned before. Its not thick or lumpy like some over creams I have tried. It’s cream in color, which I find is pleasing to the eye.

My Verdict; I originally bought this eye cream because my eyes were dry and uncomfortable. I also got it because I suffer from very, very black bags and I wanted to ‘sort them out’! Well I have been using this eye cream for the better part of a year now and can I just say that my eyes have never felt so hydrated! The chapped, tight feeling around my eyes is a thing of the past and the skin around that area looks and feels more bright and youthful. This little cream has been a lifesaver for my eyes and I feel it definitely has the right to call itself a ‘hydrating cream’ because it does just that! Now when it comes to my black bags I wouldn’t say that they have been completely diminished, but they are definitely brighter than they once were and I find them a lot easier to cover with concealer than I did before. So if you’re after an eye cream that will make your black bags disappear after day one (and if you find one please let me know) than this product isn’t for you but if your after a cream that hydrates and brings life back to your tired eyes than this wonderful product is for you!
Now this eye cream is a little on the pricey side at £26.50 for a 15ml tub, but you get what you pay for and your paying for a high quality, effect eye cream that works! I think the price is quite reasonable for how long the cream can last you and my cream can last me anything from 3 –5 months depending on how much you apply and like I said before you really don’t need a lot of this product for it to work.
To summarize I am so impressed with the quality and effectiveness of this eye cream that I wish I purchased it sooner but its safe so say that it will be in my skincare routine for many years to come! I would definitely recommend it to anyone to try for themselves and I have actually got my sister to start using it and she loves it just as much as me!
Thank you Clinique for making this amazing, wondrous product! I LOVE IT!!!

Tutorial - Work Hair & Make Up

Now I know that having to get yourself ready for work can be really un-motivating and a little depressing, because lets face it sometimes we just don’t want to go. So I thought I would show you a hairstyle and make up look that I use from time to time to jazz up my boring work routine. I have gone for minimal make up, with full coverage and put a twist on the everyday ponytail.

How I achieved my make up look:

1.        I start off by applying my Rimmel primer to my problems areas this for me is my T zone and cheeks at the side of my nose. I also apply my MUA eye primer.
2.       Then I go in with my CC cream, now with this cream less is definitely more and I just apply that using my hands and then I blend it in with my Real Techniques expert face brush.
3.       Now its time for my concealer. I use two different concealers as I find its what works for best for me and its great at covering up my terrible dark circles. So I go in first with my B-Flawless creamy concealer and I then go over that with my Rimmel concealer. I blend them in using my ring finger and real techniques brush.
4.       I then use my loose powder just to set my makeup and I mainly apply this to my T zone and under my eyes.
5.       Using my blusher brush I apply the MUA blusher to the apples of my cheeks, I used a very small amount.
6.       Now I move on to my eyes and I go in with my MUA chocolate box. Now I use the lightest golden brown all over my lids and the purplish brown just slightly in my crease.
7.        Then I curl my lashes and separate them with a lash brush and apply my mascara.
8.       Then its time for my lips and I just use my MUA lip balm in Rendezvous, I think this is such a beautiful, subtle shade, which is perfect for a work look.

Products I used:
  Rimmel lasting finish primer
Bourjois 123 perfect colour CC cream
Rimmel wake me up concealer – Ivory
   B-Flawless concealer - Light
Natural collection loose powder - Translucent
   Natural collection Lash definition mascara
  MUA eye primer
MUA trio eyes shadow palette – Chocolate box
MUA mosaic blush  - English rose
MUA power pout tint lip balm – Rendezvous

*I just need to say that I am SO impressed with the Bourjois CC cream, expect a post about that little beauty soon!!

How I achieved my hair (this style works best one 1 –2 day old hair):

1.        So the first thing I did was spray a little bit of dry shampoo, I used the herbal essence clearly naked 0%, and I also used the L’oreal studio line texture styling spray just to give me a little more texture and hold.
2.       I then sectioned off a small piece at the front of my hair.
3.       I then pulled the rest of my hair back into a messy/loose ponytail.
4.       Then I took the sectioned off piece of hair and separated it out into 3 sections.
5.       Then I braided it back across my head toward my ponytail.
6.       I secured it in place under my ponytail using hairpins.
7.        Once that’s in place and you like how it looks you then take a small piece of hair form your ponytail, making sure it lines up with your braid, and plait that all the way down securing it with an elastic band (I ran out of elastic bands, as you can see in the photo, so I had to use a hair band instead)
8.       You can then pull out any bits of hair you want and mess it up to your desired messiness.
9.       Then spray a little bit of hairspray; I used the Schwarzkopf got2b glued blasting freeze spray.

This routine should take less than 20 minutes to achieve, which is perfect if you have to be rushing out the door. I hope you enjoyed this post and found a new way to wear your hair for work and also maybe some new products to try.

Summer Nails

Its that time of year where the sun is shining, the tans are growing and the ice cream trucks are making a mints, thats right its summer!
One of the things I love about the summer is all the new beautiful nail varnish colors that you can get and I have been obsessed with them all! When it comes to my nails I’m usually quite lazy, as I use my hands literally so much in job that they end up chipping after a day, so I didn’t see the point.
Not this summer there have been just so many gorgeous shades of varnish out there at the moment that my nails haven’t been bare in weeks! I have especially been loving the oranges, corals, blues and pinks. Basically all of them!

My favourite varnish’s are by Rimmel and Barry M, as I just find them to be such great value for money and the colours are to die for! Another great bonus is, if like me, your one of those really impatient people that hates waiting the minutes it takes your nails to dry Rimmel varnishes dry in 60 seconds!! So no more waving those tacky nails around and puffing out air like a fish! Result!

It’s all about the bright colours and pastel beauties this summer and I have been embracing it completely, have you?

My Favourite High Street Cleanser And Toner

To me there is no nicer feeling at the end of the day than taking your entire make up off and cleansing and toning your face! So the products I use really need to do the job properly!
For a long time I used Simples kind to skin range cleanser and toner and it really did work for me. Then I think either my skin changed or my hormone levels changed because every time I used the cleanser it would just leave my skin feeling so greasy to the point where I was breaking out constantly. The toner also used to leave my skin feeling so raw no matter how soft I went or how little I used. Anyway this made me really sad because I loved the Simple products, but it looked like my skin no longer did.
Once the dry patches came, yes there were dry patches, I knew it was time to find a different product to use. So I started the search and tried out what seems like hundreds of high street brands, because at the time I couldn’t afford the more expensive stuff, and all of them left me wanting! Until one day I was in Superdrug and came across the L’oreal Paris Skin Perfection cleanser and toner. What caught my eye about them is that they are suitable for sensitive skin, are hypo- allergenic, contain no alcohol and no parabens. Basically no nasty stuff! After further inspection I realised these may just be the little beauties I was looking for. Both products claimed to hydrate; tone and leave my skin silky smooth and let me say they do just that!!
I have been using them for months now and I am so happy with the results. My dry patches went after just days and my skin quality improved dramatically. The cleanser is so light and creamy and has such a soothing effect when you use it. It certainly doesn’t leave your skin looking greasy, but instead leaves it feeling luxuriously soft. The toner isn’t rough at all, as I find some to be. It is like pearl liquid. Lightly and gently gliding over your skin. It didn’t leave my skin feeling tight or dry, but left it feeling so comfortable and toned. They are also great at removing all traces of make up, even waterproof make up.
I am really happy with these products; I never imagined that a high street brand would give me such great results. My skin appears brighter, my pores less visible and I have not had one break out since using these products.

How to use for best results:
Cleanserapply to a dry face using upward and outward motions for about 2 –3 minutes. Wash off using a wet muslin cloth. (Its important to remember to was off your cleanser; otherwise you’ll be left with a greasy face that still has its dirt and nasty impurities.
Toner Apply your toner using a cotton wool ball or pad. Use soft upward and outward motions to remove all the dirt. (You don’t have to wash off your toner, but remember you don’t need to use a lot and be gently with the application)

I would definitely recommend these little champions for everyone to try, especially people with sensitive skin, as they are just such a soft products. I love them and if they keep giving me the results they have they will be on my favourites list for months to come.

Take Care, Roschelle xx

They are currently on offer at Superdrug 2 for £5…guess who is going to be stocking up?!

My First Holiday

Earlier this year I went on holiday to Olu Deniz in Turkey. The experience was so amazing I really enjoyed learning all about another countries culture, heritage and history. Most of all, being a foody, I loved trying all the different foods. Mainly it was nice to get away from everyday life and just relax by the pool. So I thought I would share some of my holiday photos with you.

Take care. Roschelle xx

Review - L'oreal Paris Triple Active Anti-Shine Moisturiser.

I have been using this moisturizer for a few months now and I am so happy with the results!! It is an amazing little product that actually does what it says on the packaging and we all know there are so few products that actually deliver the expected results ;)
I have combination skin; well I have an oily T-zone, dry chin and sensitivity all over. So my moisturizer really has to be able to cater for all these problem areas and this guy did not disappoint. I can’t rave about this product enough!

What it says on the label; Mattifying, Hydrating Moisturizer.
1.        Hydrates for up to 8 hours.
2.       Refines skin surface, it appears smoother and pores appear less visible.
3.       Mattifies, anti shine complex gives you a long lasting matte effect.

What it contains;
1.        Glycerol for optimum hydration level.
2.       Salicylic Acid to stimulate natural surface exfoliation makes pores appear less visible. Also a key spot-fighting ingredient.
3.       Anti shine complex Perlite to absorb surface shine.
4.      Sebum for a long lasting matt effect.

What it actually does – EVERYTHING it says on the label IT DOES!! This product did not lull me in with false promises and then disappoint me, it delivered!!
My skin feels so hydrated from the moment I put it on through out the whole day; it doesn’t sink in or dry out. It also doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight.
My skin texture has improved dramatically it no longer looks dull or lifeless it appears vibrant and even. It is also velvet smooth to the touch, which is something I am so happy with.
I am extremely impressed with the fact that it mattifies my skin but can still give me all the benefits I have mentioned above.
This product controls shine expertly and because it is controlling my oil levels so well I have found that I have had fewer or no breakouts whilst using this product, their use of salicylic acid was genius!

I also love the texture and consistency of this moisturizer. It is so light and soft. The pigments in the cream almost make it appear to be made out of pearls. It spreads across your face so easily and penetrates deep down into pores. As someone who suffers from visible pores can I just say that it does actually work and makes them appear less noticeable from day one!! You do not need to use a lot of this product just a small finger sized amount gets the job done!

If like me you have combination skin and are struggling to find your perfect match I strongly suggest you give this guy ago, he is A-MAZ-ING!!!  I will most definitely be using him for a long time to come.

It is available to buy from

Boots

Take care. Roschelle. xx
