Tutorial - Work Hair & Make Up

Now I know that having to get yourself ready for work can be really un-motivating and a little depressing, because lets face it sometimes we just don’t want to go. So I thought I would show you a hairstyle and make up look that I use from time to time to jazz up my boring work routine. I have gone for minimal make up, with full coverage and put a twist on the everyday ponytail.

How I achieved my make up look:

1.        I start off by applying my Rimmel primer to my problems areas this for me is my T zone and cheeks at the side of my nose. I also apply my MUA eye primer.
2.       Then I go in with my CC cream, now with this cream less is definitely more and I just apply that using my hands and then I blend it in with my Real Techniques expert face brush.
3.       Now its time for my concealer. I use two different concealers as I find its what works for best for me and its great at covering up my terrible dark circles. So I go in first with my B-Flawless creamy concealer and I then go over that with my Rimmel concealer. I blend them in using my ring finger and real techniques brush.
4.       I then use my loose powder just to set my makeup and I mainly apply this to my T zone and under my eyes.
5.       Using my blusher brush I apply the MUA blusher to the apples of my cheeks, I used a very small amount.
6.       Now I move on to my eyes and I go in with my MUA chocolate box. Now I use the lightest golden brown all over my lids and the purplish brown just slightly in my crease.
7.        Then I curl my lashes and separate them with a lash brush and apply my mascara.
8.       Then its time for my lips and I just use my MUA lip balm in Rendezvous, I think this is such a beautiful, subtle shade, which is perfect for a work look.

Products I used:
  Rimmel lasting finish primer
Bourjois 123 perfect colour CC cream
Rimmel wake me up concealer – Ivory
   B-Flawless concealer - Light
Natural collection loose powder - Translucent
   Natural collection Lash definition mascara
  MUA eye primer
MUA trio eyes shadow palette – Chocolate box
MUA mosaic blush  - English rose
MUA power pout tint lip balm – Rendezvous

*I just need to say that I am SO impressed with the Bourjois CC cream, expect a post about that little beauty soon!!

How I achieved my hair (this style works best one 1 –2 day old hair):

1.        So the first thing I did was spray a little bit of dry shampoo, I used the herbal essence clearly naked 0%, and I also used the L’oreal studio line texture styling spray just to give me a little more texture and hold.
2.       I then sectioned off a small piece at the front of my hair.
3.       I then pulled the rest of my hair back into a messy/loose ponytail.
4.       Then I took the sectioned off piece of hair and separated it out into 3 sections.
5.       Then I braided it back across my head toward my ponytail.
6.       I secured it in place under my ponytail using hairpins.
7.        Once that’s in place and you like how it looks you then take a small piece of hair form your ponytail, making sure it lines up with your braid, and plait that all the way down securing it with an elastic band (I ran out of elastic bands, as you can see in the photo, so I had to use a hair band instead)
8.       You can then pull out any bits of hair you want and mess it up to your desired messiness.
9.       Then spray a little bit of hairspray; I used the Schwarzkopf got2b glued blasting freeze spray.

This routine should take less than 20 minutes to achieve, which is perfect if you have to be rushing out the door. I hope you enjoyed this post and found a new way to wear your hair for work and also maybe some new products to try.

Roschelle xx
